From Archives of IPN

From the Archives of Instytut Pamięci Narodowej (National Memory Center). Report to the secret police headquarters (Secret Service) in 1974 concerning the case of Krzysztof Frączak and Stanisław Czerwiński accused of painting on the wall of school in Sopot before the first of May 1973 the anti-communistic slogans “Out with communism!” and “The end of USSR dictatorship!”. Those two were arrested for these charges.

The motivation of such form of protest was described by the accused as a disagreement with proceedings of ruling party in Poland, which interpreted the constitutional law against the letter of Constitution. At this time it was the protest against obligatory participation of students in May Day Parade. For this kind of civil disobedience protesters were arrested and then expelled from school.
